Participate

Everyone can participate.
Everyone benefits.

When our whole community participates, we make Anchorage stronger: a better place to work and a better place to live.

A stronger community

Investing in our own kids builds a community that people are proud to work in, raise a family in, and call home.

Support for home values

Strong local schools and engaged families help support property values, which benefits every homeowner in Anchorage.

A hiring advantage

Employers who invest in education stand out when recruiting and keeping the people who are critical to making our community amazing.

Three ways to participate

Pick one, or do all three

1

Donate

Give any amount. Starting in 2027, a dollar-for-dollar federal tax credit means you can direct taxes you already owe to Anchorage kids.

2

Apply for a scholarship

Anchorage families and employees can apply for the children and grandchildren in their lives. It takes about five minutes.

Who can receive help

Two kinds of scholarships

Our goal is to help every Anchorage family who wants it.

Federal credit scholarships

For students whose households meet the federal income guidelines (not above 300% of area median income). These awards are funded by gifts that earn the federal tax credit.

See who qualifies →

Gap scholarships

For families who exceed the income limit but would still like assistance. Because federal rules do not allow the credit to pay for college, gap scholarships can also help with college assistance.

Apply for either kind →

One application covers both. Tell us your situation and we'll help match your family to the right scholarship.

Businesses & corporations

Businesses can get started now

Corporations and businesses can participate today and help fund our gap scholarships, including college assistance. Corporate gifts are standard charitable contributions with no cap, and payroll giving makes it easy for your whole team to join in.

Spread the word

Share it beyond Anchorage

Anyone in the United States can participate, even if they have never been to Anchorage. Every person you bring in increases the amount we can award our kids.

Be part of an Anchorage kid's future

It costs nothing extra, and it keeps our dollars in our community.
